ReviewRoam is in beta. This page describes how the site works today. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer; it will be updated when the organisation that operates ReviewRoam is set up.

We collect your username, email address and password (stored as a secure hash), the content you post, and basic technical logs. Your email is never shown publicly. Photos you upload are re-encoded and their location metadata is removed. We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a security cookie to protect forms. We don't sell personal information.

Location. "Near me" only uses your location when you tap the button, and your browser asks first. It is rounded to about 100 m before it leaves your device. It is kept only if you post a question nearby, and then it is shown as "near here" at that rounded position.

When you contact a place. If you tap a place's phone number, website or map link, we record that it happened, which place, and which review or question page you came from, using a random browser identifier cookie (not your IP address). This tells us which contributions actually help people, and may be used to share revenue with contributors in future.
